Current “As The Dust Settles” schedule:
- August 21st, 10am to 6pm – People arrive in LA/RED crew test day at Mike Hedge’s house in LA.
- August 22nd – 10 am to 6 pm – Auto-documentary subjects test day at Mike Hedge’s house.
- August 23rd – 9 am to 6 pm – Van and RV full of 15 people max drive to Reno/Burning Man.
- August 24th – Set up the projects camp area in Videogasm and the RED Camera Team start shooting. People not on the “early” list will spend this day in Reno preparing food and other last minute items that need to be brought in that night.
- August 25th – Starting at 12:01AM the Reno team will arrive and get situated at camp.
- August 25th - September 1st – RED crew documents the projects, “events” we’ve organized, and follows any story developments with any of the “auto-documentary” subjects.
- September 1st – September 3 Final pick-up shots, and final RED shots. Van and RV drive from Burning Man back to LA arrive no later than the night of Sept 4th.
- September 5th – People fly home or continue their travels from LA
- September 10th to October 10th – After a bunch of digital processing, the files will then be ready for each Auto-documentary subject to get a pocket hard drive full of everything they shot of their experience. They will also have a low res copy of everything the RED shot. They will each then make a 5 to 10 min film telling their own personal Burning Man story. Voice over, music, and any of the RED footage can be used to make something you are really proud of and that is profound in some way and hopefully funny and entertaining as well.
- October 10th to November 10th – A master editor and team of assistant editors will string together all of the subjects segments, mixed with the RED footage, to create a feature length film.
- November 11th - January – Rough cut screenings and further workshoping the film.
- January 2009 – Rough Cut is shown.
